In Good Hands
New this year, one of the sections of this festival will feature piano pieces composed by Cascadia Composers members (all are composers residing in Oregon and Washington). Teachers can go to this link of sheet music and mp3s and claim a piece that is a good fit for one of their students. Contact Paul Safar to connect with the composer once they pick a piece. The composer will then send a hard copy of the music, meet in person or via Skype for one rehearsal and try to attend the performance. This unique project has been going on annually in Portland for over 10 years and is now coming to Eugene! In addition to the pieces on the link, I have other hard copies of Cascadia composers works at my studio at 1022 Monroe Street. Feel free to stop by and peruse there as well.
Memorization Encouraged but not required.
